Cavies started with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a kitchen, and a refusal to accept that "good enough" was good enough.
It started with one dog
and a lot of questions.
When we got our first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, we did what any obsessive dog parent does: we read every label on every treat in the pet store. What we found was... not great. Corn syrup. Artificial colors. Ingredients we couldn't identify without a chemistry textbook.
So we started making our own. We tested recipes in our kitchen, fed them to our very opinionated Cavalier, and refined until we had something we were genuinely proud of. Something we'd eat ourselves. (We did. It's fine.)
Cavies was born from that kitchen — and from the belief that the dog who sleeps in your bed, who knows when you're sad before you do, who greets you like you've been gone for years even when you've only been gone for twenty minutes — that dog deserves the good stuff.
